Notes on updates to the site and its listings

March 21, 2026

Rebuilt Primary Map View (Desktop)

Heavily modified the Map page to focus primarily on the map view (over the standard site structure of the header, navigation, etc.). Although this view change may be jarring to the casual visitor, it affords a greater use of the map itself (which is the point of this site).

Introduced a new “Discover” feature at the top of destination details sidebar on the Map page. This keeps a rotating view of three randomly-selected destinations presented on each load rather than the same, alphabetically first destination appearing each time.

Mobile experience overhaul

We’ve made a broad set of interface and usability improvements across the site, with a major focus on mobile. The layout is now cleaner and easier to navigate, especially on smaller screens.

Thumb-friendly filters

Filtering on mobile has been redesigned. Filters now live in a slide-up drawer from the bottom of the screen, making them much easier to reach and use while browsing.

New “Nearby” discovery

You can now see what destinations are worth visiting around your current location with the new Nearby feature. Wherever you are in the city, nearby spots are just a tap away.

Map, List, or Grid views

Mobile browsing now supports Map, List, and Grid views so you can explore destinations in whichever format suits you best.

Performance improvements

We’ve rolled out several performance upgrades to make the site faster and more responsive. Additional optimization work will continue as the platform stabilizes.

More photos across listings

We’re continuing to add photography to destination listings. Several locations received new images over the past few weeks, with more being added regularly.

Beta Launch – Initial Testing Phase

We’ve opened the first beta version of the site for early testing, feedback, and review ahead of the official public launch.

The core site structure is now in place, along with an initial set of 151 destinations. In addition, 30+ more destinations appear within various Quests currently available on the site.

This release is not intended for general public use yet. Instead, it’s designed to help us gather feedback and conduct broader user testing with a larger portion of the community.

All current destination pages include their initial round of content. However, many details may evolve as posts continue to be refined and expanded. At this stage, most descriptions are based on compiled information from multiple available sources.

A number of posts are still missing photos and other supporting media, which will be added over time as the content library grows.

What we’re focusing on during this beta:

  • Feedback on site structure and navigation
  • Clarity and usefulness of destination pages
  • Identifying missing information or inaccuracies
  • Gathering suggestions for future improvements

More updates will follow as we continue improving the experience ahead of the public release.
